Hi all,
Lots of people have been posting webshots lately - which I sincerely appreciate.
Occasionally though - people are having trouble viewing links that are posted directly to pictures on webshots instead of the actual html page in the webshots gallery. Often viewing webshots .jpg files directly gives "Forbidden" security errors.
Instead of getting frustrated and saying mean things to the people doing all the posting - try these methods of "fixing" the URL - 99% of the time, you'll be able to view the pic.
Step 0) Before doing anything else, hit the refresh button on your browser. It sometimes works.
Step 1) Change "imageXX.webshots.com" to "community.webshots.com" Step 2) Delete the "_ph.jpg" from the end of the URL Step 3) Change all the directory names inbetween the ".com" and the pagename to "photo"
Look at these examples from recent posts:
http://image51.webshots.com/51/6/84/7/390268407DWFqbJ_ph.jpg becomes http://community.webshots.com/photo/390268407DWFqbJ
http://image05.webshots.com/5/2/18/13/175421813HJxdGy_ph.jpg becomes http://community.webshots.com/photo/175421813HJxdGy
Posters - please be cognizant of the fact that not everybody will remember to do this easily. When possible - please post a link to the page instead of the .jpg file - so our grumpy posters will not bother the rest of us with their frustrations.
